If you’re a Carer who helps and supports someone who can’t
manage on their own,
we want to ensure YOU get all the support YOU need.
We are trying to identify & support as many Carers as we can.
Particularly those people who may be looking after a member of their family or helping a friend or neighbour with day to day tasks, don’t really regard themselves as a Carer and are undertaking this vital activity without help or support.
If you are caring for someone, we really would like you to let us know, so that we can ensure you receive all the support and information we can give, on topics such as benefit entitlement, access to respite care or maybe simply being there to provide a kindly ear when things get too much.
If you are a carer the practice has a policy which outlines the support we can give and the action we will take if you advise us that you are a carer.
You can provide the practice with your information by completing the form below
If you have a carer and would like this person to be added to your records you will need to complete the form below to give your consent for the person to be given information about your medical condition. You may choose to give as much or as little as you wish.
There is also support locally for you as a Carer provided by the Carlisle Carers Association which was established in 2001 and provides support for 10,000 known carers in the Carlisle area.
Carer support workers can visit you at home or you can make an appointment to go to their new office which has full disabled access. The association can provide
- Information on all aspects of caring, benefits advice and all other help available to carers
- Support workers who will assess your needs, provide telephone support, general legal and financial advice
- Social events / trips
- Quarterly newsletter
