We have opened a designated line for any calls relating to Covid vaccination appointments. If you are in cohort 2-5 and have not yet booked an appointment please call the Covid vaccination appointment line TODAY to book. Please note - this line will only be in operation when Covid vaccination appointments are available. We will start inviting cohort 6 as soon as we have our next delivery date confirmed. Thank you for your patience, we are vaccinating as fast as supplies allow.
CORBY HILL BRANCH UPDATE - 18TH FEB 2021
We are pleased to announce that after significant refurbishment our Corby Hill Surgery will be re-opening from 8:00am Monday 1st March 2021.
The services that will be available from the Corby Hill Surgery are:
• pre booked appointments only, i.e. no walk-ins. Please do not arrive too early for your appointment as we have limited space due to social distancing
• prescription collections, this is only for patients using Corby Hill as their nominated prescription collection point.
o prescriptions requested on or after 22nd February will be available to collect from Corby Hill Surgery from 01st March.
o prescriptions requested prior to 22nd February and not collected from Brampton Collection Hub before 6:30pm Friday, 27th February will be transferred to Corby Hill and available at Corby Hill from 8:00am Monday 1st March
Face coverings must be worn within the surgery and social distancing guidelines should be observed

Who is being vaccinated next in north Cumbria?
The NHS is prioritising vaccinating those that experts have agreed will benefit from having it the most, as they are at most risk.
From Monday 15th February, people in cohorts 5 and 6 are being invited by the NHS to have their vaccine.
• Cohort 5 - all those 65 years of age and over
• Cohort 6 - all individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality
• Local GP vaccination services will be calling in both cohorts.
People in Cohort 5 may also receive a letter from the National Booking Service, providing an alternative option which invites them to book at a Large Vaccination Centre. However as you would need to travel further for your vaccination it might be more convenient for people to wait for their local vaccination service run by their GPs to get in touch. Everyone in the priority cohorts who want to have a vaccination can do so from their local GP vaccination service.
The nearest Large Vaccination Centres at the moment are located in Kendal, Ulverston and Lancaster. There are also sites in the North East at Newcastle’s Centre for Life and the NHS Nightingale Hospital North East, Sunderland with a third Large Vaccination Centre location opening in Durham opening soon. If you want to wait to be called by your local GP vaccination service then please do not respond to the national booking service invitation.
The way the cohorts are being invited may result in a younger person with an underlying health condition being offered an appointment before someone in the over 65 year age group. This doesn't mean you have been missed so please wait until the NHS contacts you.
In the meantime the message remains the same - the NHS will be in contact with you when the time is right for you to be invited for your vaccine. Please do not contact the NHS, please wait for the NHS to contact you.
If you are over 70 years old and have still not been contacted please now make contact with your surgery so they can advise you on when you can expect an appointment. - As per our previous Facebook post please wait until Wednesday 17th February if you have not been contacted by then call Brampton Medical Practice 016977 2551.

COVID VACCINE UPDATE - COHORT 2-4 ONLY - Update 12.2.21
Starting Monday 15th February we will be contacting all remaining patient in cohort 2-4 to book a vaccine appointment, once these are all booked we will move onto further cohort. If you are in cohort 2-4 and do not have an appointment booked by Wednesday 17th February please call the surgery 016977 2551.
Vaccine Update – 29.01.2021
As you will be aware the Covid vaccination programme – the biggest in NHS history – is now underway.
We are delivering the vaccines to all patients in cohorts 1-4 in line with government guidance however the supply of vaccines is controlled centrally by NHS England therefore we are only able to progress at the speed of this delivery.
Thank you to everyone who has attended the clinics so far and for responding so promptly to invitations we have sent out. This really helps our planning.
You can help us further by:
- Providing us with a mobile number to allow us to contact you by text when it is your turn to be vaccinated.
- Sign up for online access to appointments as this will allow you to book a slot yourself as soon as we advise you by text that you are eligible to be vaccinated.
- Please don’t contact the practice to ask about your vaccination as this prevents other patients from contacting us. You will be contacted by our team when your vaccine is due either by text or, if you have no mobile number, by telephone. If you do not respond to a text message we will contact you so no one will be missed.
- If you have mobility issues which mean that you will struggle to use steps at the community centre please advise our reception team. Special arrangement will be made.
- We are planning vaccinations for housebound patients. If you are unable to attend for vaccination please let us know. These vaccinations will take a little longer due to the distances involved for our nurses to travel so please only ask for this if it is impossible for you to attend the smaller clinics. Our team will contact you to discuss your needs.
Following recent communications we now have a number of staff members self isolating due to positive Covid tests.
The Brampton site has re-opened to patients who will be seen as appropriate following clinical assessment.
We aren't expecting any impact on patients other than potential delays in answering the phone or it taking longer for a clinician to get back to you.
We continue to follow all infection control guidelines as well as Covid safe working practices.
COVID 19 VACCINATIONS - Updated 11.12.20
For the efficient roll out of the vaccination programme we will be sending text message notifications. Please notify us if we don't already have your mobile number by texting your Name and Date of Birth to 07811714463 so we can update your records.
If you do not have a mobile phone you will still be informed when eligible for a vaccination either by phone or letter.
The first phase of the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme has started.
When it is the right time patients will receive an invitation to come forward.
This letter will include all the information you will need to book appointments, including your NHS number.
Please do not contact the practice to get an appointment until you receive this letter.

Following guidance from NHS England and to protect our patients and staff there is no longer any walk-in access to the practice unless you are collecting certain prescriptions - see below.
All appointments must be pre-booked by calling our Reception on 016977 2551 or online. Please help us by providing the reason for your appointment to allow us to determine if this can be booked immediately or triaged by a GP. Appointments will be allocated only if face to face patient care is clinically required.
Demand for medication remains very high. Please note the following information for all patients
- Please do not request medication "just in case" or for longer periods than your usual prescription.
-- Please allow 7 clear days for your medication to be dispensed.
- If you are asking someone else to collect your medication they will need to know

How many items you are expecting
Whether you pay for your prescription or what your exemption - this is the box you would normally tick on the back of your prescription.
ASSESSMENT "RED" CENTRE
During the current COVID-19 outbreak, patients experiencing certain symptoms (breathing issues/fever) and who have been telephone assessed by a GP as needing face to face examination will be called for assessment at our "Red" centre sited at Corby Hill surgery.
